Yogic Lifestyle Integration Sessions

Private, 1-1 consultation is the traditional way to learn and study yoga. Each session is unique and genuinely tailored to you to provide the best resources and foundation for your practice. This way of working is suitable for any level, from beginner to advanced; appropriate for any direction, from physical to spiritual; and applicable in any situation.

Through embodied healing modalities and holistic counseling, we honor the integrated nature of the physical body, emotional body, mind body and spiritual body to gain a deeper awareness and understanding of the whole self. Yoga is a powerful form of mind-body medicine that approaches health in a holistic manner, recognizing that physical ailments also have emotional, mental and spiritual components. But unlike a yoga class, where the teacher guides a group of students through a practice, a private yoga session is focused on just one person—you. No yoga experience is required.

Here’s what to expect in a Yogic Lifestyle Integration Session:

1. The session begins with an in-depth conversation designed to uncover your health challenges, history, concerns, interests, and goals. This will include questions about daily diet, profession and working conditions, exercise routines, relationships, and mental health.

2. You may be guided through some simple movement and breathing practices to assess your strength, flexibility, and balance as well as your habits of body and mind.

3. Together you will create a personalized action plan (practice) designed to suit your abilities, health goals, medical challenges, interests and time. This may include postures, breathing techniques, and meditation, as well as the application of yogic principles such as gratitude and non-harming. Additionally, suggestions about related aspects such as nutrition, Ayurveda, and lifestyle change may be offered.

4. Follow-up sessions are often recommended and will help refine your progress and meet your changing needs. You will be supported every step of the way with respectful and compassionate guidance, education, and tools to help you create a flexible wellness plan that incorporates lifestyle recommendations to encourage a state of balance in the mind, body and spirit.

It’s important to recognize that yoga only works if you integrate it into your daily life! It’s helpful to plan on three to six sessions to get you started and offer support as you establish your practice. After this initial period, some individuals enjoy having regular sessions, monthly or weekly. Others return for occasional “touch-up” visits.
